J.A. Kazimer: The Lady in Pink Deadly Ever After #2

Series I didn t feel as if I had missed too much of the backstory to understand the characters and the plot The Lady in Pink is a cross between fairy tale and urban fantasy and the combination works Blue s thoughts and opinions about the crispy critter he finds in his apartment nearly made me pee my pants with aughter His humor The Taming of the Tights (Misadventures of Tallulah Casey lightens the dark situations he and his partner Izzy face His self destruction is evident as the series continues and he often is the obstacle in the way of his dreams and desires Izzy is an easy character toike I just have to The Great Exchange laugh at the fact she s the former tooth fairy Who knew the tooth fairy was so feisty Kazimer has written a whimsical tale filled with humor and sass If you areooking for something just a The Keys to Tulsa little bit different from your normal paranormal or urban fantasy reads I recommend that you give this series a try if only for theaughter that will ensue Blue and Izzy s new detective agency is going from strength to strength and has become a household name even if your house is a shoe They have offices now and a staff and are a growing successBut when one of their interns is murdered it Oltre i confini del cuore looksike Blue could be the target and even so Masterpiece losing an employee just has to be investigated But as they delve deeper the opposition becomes stronger as they uncover connections with Blue s mysterious past And his curseThe plot of this book is interesting but I m in two minds about it The whole mystery of Blue s origin how it fed the conflict between Izzy and Blue the whole opposition against their discovery and how it pops up in several different ways all work really well Iike how it s related to several parts of the story and is both part of their profession and personal The Reality Creation Technique lives and allowed for some character growthIt also has a series of excellent Noir style cross and double cross as victim and suspect constantly changed and changed and changed again It had some really good twists and unexpected endings I honestly didn t have any idea where it was going or who the culprit was and I was completely surprised several times I appreciate that in any book especially a book with a murder mystery Being kept guessing is always an achievement Soots of positive On the negative side I feel the ending was sprung on me without any real back up to it I didn t see it coming but how could I All the relevant information was dumped in the Flirtation (Shifters Forever After, last part of the book there was no way to extrapolate to this and that whole revelation felt abrupt and rather sudden There s a twist and an abrupt change of direction Still I am curious as to what that means for the futureI also uiteike the whole debate over whether Blue s abilities are a curse or a blessing and I think it s actually done really well after I ve read a huge number of books where the curse has had no real downsideFor me there s a strange disconnect with this book s this series world building which I ve touched on before On the one hand the original elements of the story are excellent The whole idea of fairies that produce dust and need dentin to exist that s an excellent original concept I really What She Wanted like It takes the idea of the tooth fairy and elevates it and explains it It s interesting and it s original and there s some genuine thought behind it that I appreciated There are other hints of things that I think have high potentialike the very original Trolls There s a The Uninvited lot of really uniue elements I m interested in hereBut there s also aot of fairy tale elements that don t mesh well because they re not remotely developed I m going to have to draw on how this is handled in other books to make my point clear When Jasper Fforde write The Fourth Bear we had a Goldie Locks who was very picky and needed everything to be just right While JC Nelson s Grimm Agency had princesses who had powers and Ars poetica lives that mark that In this book we have Goldie Locks who is a woman with blonde hair We have a reference to peopleiving in a shoe but no development or explanation We have women mentioned as princesses but it just seems Decoding Air Travel like it s being used as a synonym for woman I don t understand why these fairy tale elements are there if they areiterally just going to be used as words Goldie Locks and Peter Rabbit could be called Susan and Fred if for all the meaning their names mean It s frustrating because I ve seen how well this can be done and this book isn t doing itBlue has a Dragon's Curse (The Hearts of Dragons Book 1) (English Edition) lot of wrongheadedness when it comes to his attitudes towards Izzy He is protective to the point of controlling he tries to keep secrets from her for her own good and he is constantly trying toock her up or keep her inside for her own safety This could be seen as a general sense of caution when we consider the threats against him but he has absolutely no regard for his own safety at all he is reckless to the point of foolishness and it doesn t Keys to the Ultimate Freedom lookike daring and pursuing a case despite the risk it Hollands Grimoire of Magickal Correspondences looksike defiant childish rebellion His I قصه‌های خوب برای بچه‌های خوب --- ۶ love fairy tales and normally enjoy modern reinterpretations I alsoove novels that blend urban fantasy and mystery Thus I had high expectations for The Lady in Pink I was disappointed The Lady in Pink is mediocre It is readable but not memorableOne thing that bothered me was that at the beginning of the novel Blue is hired by Izzy s uncle to find out why fairies are disappearin. Most As Blue and Izzy investigate who might have wanted a Resilient lowly intern dead and why they begin to uncover a diabolical plan that could put both of theirives in dangerand unearth shocking secrets that stretch deep into Blue’s shadowy family history.

in his apartment Needless to say SOMEONE i I was given a free copy of this book by Netgallery in return for an honest review Ok so this book was a bit different to say the Rozwazania o Psalmach least I wasn t sure what to expect but Iiked it Underneath the Fairytale characters what you have is a good detective story The fairytale element gave it a uirkiness and added a touch of magic and fun to the story You could tell this book was part of a series but it didn t seem to make any difference to the story as it stood alone Blue is a grumpy smart mouthed 30 something old fashioned PI He also happens to have the ittle problem of shocking anyone with his electrified body whenever he makes skin to skin contactHis business has recently been turned into a huge sucess by his new business partner Izzy fairy royalty and an ex tooth fairy After coming home and finding the body of one of his employees on his iving room floor Blue is sure he was the intended victim Narrowing the جامع التواریخ جلد 4 فهرست ها list of people down who want him dead isn t an easy task and why is Izzy keeping secrets from him Blue becomes convinced the murder has something to do with his past after his office burns down which contains a file he has taken years to compile on information about his birth and abandonment at a orphanage as a baby Lots of twists and turns and some interesting characters a good read if you want something uirky and interesting It s been a year since Izzy Davies the previous Tooth Fairy and Blue Reynolds Little Boy Blue with an electricity problem became partners in a new PI firm Their relationship remains platonic due to Blue s problem of frying people with his hands and his reluctance to hurt Izzy by accidentally shocking her However someone is out to get Blue his intern was killed at Blue s apartment and then his office is torched Who is out to get him How can he keep their goodooking new VP away from Izzy But most of all can he keep Izzy from being killed in the cross fireBlue is a sexist alcoholic crass self destructive manand I Tug Hill Country love him He s sarcastic and an egomaniac but these traits just for some reason makes him evenikable Sometimes his constant drinking gets to me but for some reason he s just Dragon Ball Anime Comics, Vol. 2 lovable I think it s because I sense aonely starved for affection What Well Leave Behind (Thirty-Eight, lost Little Boy Blue But enough about him This book was an excellent addition to what I think will be a great series There were a couple of things that I find aittle annoying Izzy comes off as a Thirty-Eight Days (Thirty-Eight, little too much of aiar for me to really trust her to be a good character so much so I can t understand why Blue trusts her Not that she s terrible she actually is an intriguing character who I would 8 1/2 like to understand aittle bit and to feel I can trust her I Health and Healing for African-Americans like to feel the motivations of the characters and I find her too removed to do that Next I wish Blue would come across aittle Garden of Snakes (House of Royals lessike a bumbling PI who just stumbles across the answers to the mysteries He seems intelligent and I d New Testament Apocalyptic like him to show his competence once in a while drunk or not But these are minor things Iove the mixing in of fairy tales the 隠れていた宇宙 [Kakurete Ita Uchū] 2 line Fraternity Row Row Row about had me rolling on the floor This series is an excellent addition to the Urban Fantasy genre Do yourself a favor and get the two books in the seriesthey are well worth itA huge thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for a free copy in exchange for an honest review wwwmelissa413readsalotblogspotcomI was not expecting this book to turn out the way it did I m not sure what I was expecting but this book was pretty great I need to go back and read the first one now to see how it all started Isabella Davis Izzy and Blue Reynolds own a PI business together In the first book Izzy was the Tooth Fairy but Blue does something and she is notonger the Tooth Fairy so all of the fairies hate himIn this book he was The Sorcerers Soul looking into these crimes of fairies being kidnapped by someone who is stealing their fairy dust to shoot up Yeah that s what I thought when I read it I might have been dreaming Blue is also trying to find his birth parents whoeft him as a baby on a doorstep You see Blue has blue hair and is electric as in touch me or tick me off and I will shoot ightening up your arse Izzy is part human and part fairy She does have the wings though I ove the banter between these two and Blue is hilarious many times in the book A rambling from Blue I d Satans Mistress learned aong time ago nothing good can come from an anonymous number Or anonymous sex for that matter unless one What My Mother and I Dont Talk About liked telemarketers and STD s And that s not even the funny stuff but I digress Meanwhile someone is trying to kill Blue because they don t want to him to figure out who his parents were so Izzy and Blue have to try to figure out who is doing this Ioved some of the names of the cities and places in the book You have Alphabet Soup City Fairyland and New Never City to name a few Some of the cops are just as interesting Detective Goldie Locks and Detective Peter Rabbit I just Tagus the Night Horse (Beast Quest, loved all of thoseittle aspects of the book Oh and Love Beyond Limits (Among the Fair Magnolias) let me not forget Bo Peep she was a bit of a slut I mean seriously this book is a riot just with this world the au. Coming home to find a dead body in youriving room isn’t the best way to end a ong day’s work especially when that work is as New Never City’s premier blue haired PI It’s even worse when the corpse is your intern electrocuted to death and you.

Thor made up I thoroughly enjoyed it and ook forward to books the author has written I would Gol Atan Kaleye like to thank NETGALLEY and KENSINGTON BOOKS for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review Posted on What I m ReadingLet me just say Ioved The Lady in Pink It s absolutely fantastic However there are a few things you need to know before you start this particular story 1 Still not your happy cheery fairytale that we have all grown to The Age of Disruption love Basically what Disney has painted as fairytales That is a whole other subject that we are just not going to get into Nitty and grittyike the first book 2 If you embark on this story you should probably read the first story because you will need the background of Blue and Izzy 3 Still a Burning bridges lot of messed things going on New Never City and add a dash of twist to the story Seriously I didn t see them until the end Okay I kind of guess some of them but not to the extent of the twist 4 It s a mystery you are galavanting throughout New Never City and areas around it Like the first book we are hanging out aot with Blue He s still the same outlook on Freshman Scandal (Freshman Dorm, life and it s uite humorous Yet he needs to solve a murder that happen in his own apartment thateads him to discover other things that connect to his past We actually Rembrandts Jews learn aot about Blue s past and it s mind blowing Blue and Izzy have this sexual tension but Blue doesn t want to go pass business partner friend Refusing His Second Chance line Which complicates things since they re extremely attracted to one another Of course you have add the new characters that maybe good or bad Yes it s still nitty gritty and probably beike how the Brothers Grimm would have Brand Name Dates love to see these characters modernize When I was reading the story it kind of reminded me of the tv show Grimm Anyway if you don t mind your fairytale characterseading a darker side you might enjoy this series However if you Confectionately Yours Collection (Confectionately Yours, lean towards the Disney portrait of fairytales you might want toook elsewhere Copy provide by Lady in Pink is a cute book but I was not in ove with it I iked how the writer changed the fairy tale information around to fit a human world There is a Wonderland gnomes fairies with nasty attitudes
